Upcoming EventsMission Hills Holiday Home TourThis tour of the public rooms of five historic privately owned homes will take place in the heart of the original Mission Hills subdivision, established one hundred and one years ago in 1908. Each of these 5 wonderful old homes will be dressed for the holidays and open to the public for one afternoon. All proceeds will be used to fund the research necessary to annex a large section of homes in the area onto an already existing historic district. We are proud to have the support of Save Our Heritage Organisation and the Mission Hills Heritage organization in our endeavor to maintain the character and charm of one of San Diego's oldest neighborhoods. Sunday, December 6th, Noon to 5pm A music & light show will be making its seasonal debut at 5:15pm Tickets: $20 per person. Sold on the day of the event in the front yard of the home at 4203 Arguello St. on the corner of Sunset Blvd. beginning at noon.
Oral History Program Members are eligible to nominate their family and friends for recording an oral history. Interview subjects will have a chance to polishing their memories during an interview including scanning old photographs and resulting in a transcript. Often these histories relate to the neighborhood development or happenings, to friends, families, and the broader context of times gone by. Oral histories often create a record of the everyday events that shaped San Diego history, Conducting oral histories of residents is an enjoyable way for members, residents or former residents to pass along these stories and traditions to future generations. The oral histories will be posted here and original records will be donated to the San Diego Historical Society.
