2011 Fall Walking Tour

“A Walk Along the Streetcar Line”

This year’s tour explored the route of the streetcar line through Mission Hills and the beautiful homes built along the route.  The docent-led walk included details about Kate Sessions’ nursery that was adjacent to the rails, the development that was spurred by the streetcar line, and the builders and early residents of the area. The walk included the historic district based on the final extension of the streetcar line.  While the rails are no longer there, a vintage streetcar that once ran the streets of San Diego was featured on the tour.
