EXCITING NEWS - we are compiling a Mission Hills coffee table book that will showcase the unique charm of our historic community. Our friends at the Save Our Heritage Organization (SOHO) and Heritage Press have agreed to publish the book. It will tell the story of Mission Hills from the early 1900’s when our neighborhood was the dream of several San Diego visionaries to the present. The book will include photos—both vintage and new—but it will also tell the story through text of the people who have lived and worked in Mission Hills over the years.
BIG REQUEST - we would love to scan any vintage, or new, photos you are willing to share with us that capture the charm of your home, or your street, or our community in any way. In addition, we would like to talk with, and record, the oral histories of the folks who have lived in our community for many years. So if you have photos that you are willing to share, or know somehow who might have some, please let us know. Also if you have neighbors or friends who have lived in the community for many years who you think would be good candidates for our oral history project please let us know. Please phone Mission Hills Heritage at: (619) 497-1193, or contact us through our website. All proceeds from the book sales will go to the non-profit organizations Mission Hills Heritage and the Save Our Heritage Organization. We are very excited about this project and hope that you are too.
